Harkila have a fantastic range of boots for all occasions: leather hunting boots, lightweight cordura boots and neoprene lined rubber wellington boots.
Harkila have kindly made this quick and easy guide on how to care for your boots so that you get the very best from them season after season....
CARING FOR LEATHER BOOTS
1. Clean and dry the boots – brush off dirt and wash with water, make sure they’re completely dry before continuing.
2. Use oil (for example our Mink Oil leather care) and spread it evenly across the surface of the boots with an old cloth or brush in with a horsehair brush.
3. Let the boots dry (NOTE: High temperatures can damage the leather, we recommend letting them dry in a warm room away from direct heat)
4. Repeat as needed: we recommend once a month for regular use, and once a week for heavy use.
5. You can also use rubber care for the sole for extra hardwearing use (for example our Rubber Care spray).
CARING FOR CORDURA BOOTS
1. Clean and dry the boots – brush off dirt and wash with water
2. Use a Waterproofing spray (for example our Waterproofing Fabric Care spray) and spread it evenly across the surface of the boots.
3. Let the boots dry
4. Repeat as needed: we recommend once a month for regular use, and once a week for heavy use.
5. You can also use rubber care for the sole for extra hardwearing use (for example our Rubber Care spray).
CARING FOR RUBBER BOOTS
For rubber boots, clean of any dirt and spray the whole boot with Rubber Care spray as evenly as you can and leave it to dry. This prevents the rubber from cracking over time.
